Multiple-exposure photos of 2023 SASSL 50s Fall Ball Opening Night

Spent most of the opening night of SASSL 50s Fall Ball troubleshooting previously unvisited camera settings to resolve issues eventually attributed to a couple of malfunctioning long lenses. One wouldn’t zoom and abruptly vibrated into focus. The other couldn’t capture enough light to adequately shoot fast-moving action beneath Thursday night lights at Normoyle Park. Where have we heard that one before, eh? LOL The frustrating procedure, however, produced some interesting results from Alamo City Heat’s extra inning of one-pitch 37-27 flipflop victory over Texas Locos, a barnburner of a game worthy of more than the price of admission. These photographs are not meant to illustrate my “artsy” side. Merely a case of making the most of an unfortunate situation. Then again, some of you may request more multiple-exposure shoots. Either way, I just must share a few of these photos. By the time Team Blast was well into a 19-8 victory over Team Madness in the subsequent game, my Nikon D5 battery was spent. Switched devices and shot video of a few highlights and lowlights to follow this post here on the SASSL Facebook group page. In keeping with the spirit of one long night at the ballpark, my iPhone battery died before the nightcap was completed. Therefore, we’re requesting all Blast and Madness players to please wear your uniforms Thursday night for team photos, and we’ll try again to get them in focus.
