SASSL kicks off its summer season at Normoyle on Saturday, June 6, 2009 with 6 games

Check the summer schedule on the SASSL web site for the complete summer schedule which takes place most Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer.

SASSL has renovated the old hardball field (field #3) and converted it into a regulation senior softball field under a unique public-private agreement with the city of San Antonio. Required modifications were made by the city and by SASSL through the generosity of donors and players. Although much work remains to be done the field is now suitable for senior softball league play. Field improvements will continue to be made throughout the year to include a regulation outfield fence and a scoreboard as well as an improved outfield turf.

SASSL Raises $2410 to Help Offset cost of OLLU Fire Damage

Individual SASSL players donated $1710 during the last two Spring season games on May 10, 2008 and May 13, 2008 to help offset the cost of the fire damage at Our lady of the Lake University. The league treasury added a $500 donation for a total donation of $2410.

The $2410 donation was presented to Peggy Prather, OLLU Director of Development on Wedensday, May 14, 2008 by Albert Cerda, Tuesday Commissioner and Bill Altman, SASSL Board Chairman. A photograph of the presentation which included selected OLLU students was taken by the school photgrapher and will be published in the OLLU school newspaper and on the web site when received.

The SASSL donation was a small token of appreciation for the support OLLU has given SASSL during the past 5 years. That support enabled SASSL to survive and rapidly grow to over 300 participants and 17 teams during the period.

SASSL, DBA "San Antonio Seniors Softball League", is a Texas Non-profit Corporation organized and approved by the IRS as a Tax Exempt charitable organization within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986".
